Sally the bluetick lucks out again

Sally is a wonderfully friendly and pretty little blue tick coonhound. In 2006 she had the misfortune to end up in a rural VA high kill shelter. But that was the last time she had bad luck. Lucky Sally was rescued by Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and went to live with Lois, two cats and Jacques the dog while awaiting her forever home. Her great personality won everyone over, especially Jacques who was smitten by Sally - Jacques happily let Sally steal bones right out if mouth, something he has never let anyone else do.

Before too long, Sally found a home with Jason and his daugther and Sally went to live with them and she was loved and cared for by Jason and his daughter for three years. Unfortunately, changes in their lives made it hard for them to give Sally the care she deserved - Jason's job changed and now required longer hours, the daughter, now in high school and with many after school activities was hardly home and Jason had the great fortune of remarrying. Unfortunately, the new wife has allergies.

So, with a heavy heart, Jason contacted Lois at Homeward Trails to see if we could find a home for Sally where she would get the TLC and attention she deserves.

Not even a week had passed before Megan and Pat saw Sally on Homeward Trails Petfinder site and thought that she might be perfect for them and their dog. Megan, Pat and the dog met Sally last weekend and it was love connection. Well, Sally is so sweet and friendly, it's hard to meet her and not fall head over heels. Sally went home today to start her new life with Megan and Pat.

We know that Jason and his family will miss Sally - we thank them so much for loving Sally enough to let her go so she can get the attention and companionship she craves and needs.

Can't wait to hear about Sally's live with her new family.
